Sri Lankan airlines ready to help promote Maldives

Maldivian Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has said that the Sri Lankan airline is ready to help promote the Maldivian tourism industry.

An official from MATATO said that the airline had agreed to assist Maldives in promoting the tourism industry and that investors from Sri Lanka had also offered support.

“Maldives and Sri Lanka can accomplish a lot of things by working together; foreign investors who had invested in Maldives are ready to help as well” MATATO official said.

MATATO said that some loyalists of the former administration officials are attempting to destroy the tourism industry by using the current political strife as a weapon.

Henceforth all parties with investments in the Maldives must rally to deter such campaigns, it added.

The association further revealed the Maldives is being tainted as a result of the ongoing unrest in the country.
