Maldives Travel Conference 2025
Women's Edition in Thoddoo
About the Conference

MATATO’s annual travel conference in 2024 was dedicated exclusively to women in the tourism industry, with the aim to spotlight the crucial issues affecting women in tourism, particularly those in leadership roles. The conference proved to be a pivotal platform for addressing the pressing challenges faced by women in the tourism sector. This series of women’s edition is a movement that initiated with the Conference in 2024, towards equality and empowerment
We are continuing this movement and taking it to other regions in Maldives. This conference is the Women’s Edition in Addu. The Addu conference seeks to raise awareness about the obstacles women face in the tourism sector, mainly in Addu region, and to explore strategies for creating a supportive and equitable environment. By promoting open dialogue and sharing insights, the event aims to pave the way for greater opportunities and retention for women in tourism. The discussions will focus on identifying practical solutions that can be implemented to foster a more inclusive industry, where women can thrive and achieve their full potential. It is an opportunity for women in tourism to connect, network, and support each other. By fostering a sense of community and solidarity, the movement aims to inspire and empower women to overcome challenges and achieve success in their careers. It aligns with our ongoing commitment to championing women's empowerment and youth development in the tourism industry.

* Opportunities for women in Addu - tourism employment is not limited to resorts only
